I've had indoor fountains for over 40 years. When they make noise, you simply remove the pump and clean it. Not so with this fountain. First, you need to remove the two tiny screws to get at the pump. This involves draining the water, removing the stones and once having done all this, hope the pump is quiet, so you do not need to do the process all over again. I was very harsh when I first reviewed it because after draining and unscrewing and adjust the pump, then getting it going again, it was still noisy. So I shut it off to tackle the next morning. When I plugged it back in, it was silent and it has been working quietly and smoothly for over a month now. But only 4 stars because having to unscrew a lid to reach the pump is not to my liking at all.
This tabletop fountain is amazing! I was concerned of the water splashing on my cherry wood desk but it does not splatter water at all. You need to adjust the stones per the instructions to prevent any water splashing outside the base. Even with the most aggressive rock formation, I only had a tiny splash of water. Not concerned. This is a very quiet desk fountain and very relaxing. Fill with Distilled water to prevent white spots. I am super impressed and I am very picky when it comes to adding anything with water on my desk. Great Product!!
I washed the rocks and added distilled water as another review said to do and no noise at all . It made some when I turned it on for just a few seconds, other than that I hear nothing but a splash from the water every now and then which is a good noise (: If you want the sound of water falling you won't get that . It is calming to watch and adds the perfect touch to my crystals I have displayed.
I must say I love this fountain so far.. I ended up falling asleep to the sound of the water droplet noise.. It's so peaceful.. I definitely recommend as a nice decor for any space.
